***We now have a winner!***
It’s been ages, I know. I feel terrible for not posting anything here for such a long time. Well, I come with some good news though!
As today is International Women’s Day (and I'm on holidays!), the best way to celebrate it is by a giveaway! What is it?!
Melisser’s book - Vegan Girl's Guide to Life
It has been out since November 2010. And guess what? I’m in it! Yay!
The Vegan Girl Guide to Life is a great book for women or girls interested in veganism or who are new vegans. This book is packed with useful information about the lifestyle, from diet and nutrition to crafts and even vegan tattoos! I particularly like the fun format which makes it so pleasurable to read and come back to time and time again. It is also a great collection of individual stories of vegan women around the world and did I mention recipes? They are some nice ones you’d want to try. Other topics covered are vegan cosmetics, small vegan businesses, vegan stores, how to travel as a vegan and how to stock your vegan pantry. So, there’s definitely at least a little something in it for everyone.
I bought one for my mum which I haven’t sent to her yet by the way (o_O). My signed copy from Melissa is on the way and I’m very impatient to receive it. But in the meantime, as a thank you to Melisser for featuring me in her book, I am giving away a copy. This is not sponsored by anyone but me.
Entries end Tuesday 22nd March 2011 at 23.59 pm. A winner will be chosen by a random number generator.
Please only comment once. Leave some contact details or a link to your blog etc so that I can get back to you for your address if you’re the winner.
The giveaway is open worldwide. I will order from Amazon so I’ll ship to anywhere.
Good luck and happy International Women’s Day!
If you would like to buy the book from Melissa and get a signed copy, you can order it from here. Also, check out Melissa's blog here where she shares her culinary adventures from vegan dining around the world or right from her kitchen.
Update: We now have a winner!
Thank you all for participating in the giveaway for The Vegan Girl's Guide to Life by Melisser Elliott. I won't hold you in suspense any longer. We have a winner who is mnikpat !The winner was generated using the number generator on www.random.org.
I counted 67 comments as the last one was left after the closing time.
And comment number 44 is the winner.
Because blogger (for some reason) does not do comment numbering, I manually counted (and re-counted) from top to bottom for comment number 44.
Check back soon for recipes and more.
Hello lovely Butterfly...I've missed you. I am happy to hear of the giveaway and I would love to enter for this giveaway. Hope everything is well...stay warm.
ReplyDeleteHow cool that you're featured in Melisser's book! I have yet to get myself a copy, so put my name in the hat for the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, what I always take with me as snacks when travelling are nuts and dried fruits.
Happy International Women's Day - and happy holidays!
Have to second the vote for nuts - I keep them in my desk at work. I also bring Luna bars and dark chocolate covered cranberries everywhere I go. Yum!
ReplyDeleteCool! what a great pic of you :-)
ReplyDeleteI always carry Luna or Lara bars. They're always perfect for a light snack or to tide me over during a dinner where I don't have any options (not that it's that often, but you never know, right?).
So many bloggers are posting for the first time in ages today - myself included! Welcome back. :)
ReplyDeleteMy essential travel snack is a hefty stash of Larabars! Yummy, fairly filling, and portable.
My favorite travel snack is Larabars and Primal Strips. When those aren't available, I always makes sure I have fruit on hand like apples and bananas.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very simple one: an apple. But it's also tasty, refreshing, easy to eat and it's ok to keep it cold or warm. It's a snack that is just as good in the morning als late in the evening. Sometimes yummie doesn't have to be complicated!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed! :) (PS- how cool that you're in it?!) My contact information is AMMauceri@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back!
ReplyDeleteUsually I choose an energy bar though I think I'll consider carrying nuts too, they're handy!
Definitely Larabars! I always have one my car and my husband's car, and usually one in my purse.
ReplyDeleteThe food I carry with me isn't really too spectacular... Either half a peanut butter and jam sandwich or Kedem chocolate tea biscuits with some natural peanut butter. (Works well for a diabetic such as myself..)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to celebrate International Women’s Day! My vegan must-have is peanut butter. I always take some when traveling so that I can get by if no vegan eats are available. I can usually find flat bread, crackers or pretzels to eat with it, or just by the spoonful when really stranded (as I once was, in a hostel in the desert). I love that PB comes in packets now...so easy!
ReplyDeleteI always carry around either a Larabar or an apple for a snack!
ReplyDeleteI always carry some smooth peanut butter, raw fruits and vegetables and the occasional Lara bar with me to keep me going through an emergency where no other vegan options are involved.
